Last Thursday my daughter and granddaughters went with me to the new store called, "Not Too Shabby", their first time, my 5Th . They liked it, granddaughters found old pictures(they collect) and I found a nice corner floor shelf for my daughter. It was a surprise for her. I liked it, but really have no room for it, but I will enjoy looking at it at her house!! She already has it nicely filled with old hankies, and tea cups. Looks very nice! But I get ahead of myself! After visiting the store, we found a nice place to eat our picnic lunch. It was the municipal Rose Gardens in a near by area. First time that I had been there, it was just beautiful, with dozens of different types of roses in bloom. Got lots of really nice pictures after our lunch. The granddaughters had fun taking pictures with their cameras. We then went to another store, then went back to my house. The girls were tired, so stayed with "Pa" while daughter and I went on to Niles and checked out a few more stores. It was a fun day for all, and later we all went to eat at Sweet Tomatoes, our fave place to eat! Yummy salads and soups. Did I say the weather was really good too, nice warm day after all the cold ones, was greatly appreciated!!
That was Thursday, then on Friday my husband and I went back to Willow Glen to an estate
sale place, and looked, found a creamer and one cup and saucer. Then it was to a Mexican place for lunch. Very tasty! I think I could live on Mexican food, it is sooooooo good!! What a nice ending to a nice week. Then Saturday I went to visit my sister who had just had a very major surgery, unfortunately they had found some cancer, and she will have to have chemo!! She's my baby sister, and I feel so bad for her. I will do what I can for her during her recovery. She's almost like my child, as there is twelve years between us. I used to carry her around and people thought she was mine!! That of course did not make my Mother happy at all!!!!! And now that our Mother is gone, I think she thinks of me as her "other" Mom. Anyway, on to Sunday. I met my daughter and granddaughters at a place in Pleasanton called the "The Blue Door", they were having an annual garden/store sale. I found a couple of , rose dishes, well what else!! And daughter found some embroidered linens. Just one of the granddaughters found something, two books that she liked(old ones), one a novel, and the other a book of poems. She writes poetry, so that was a fun find. :-) Then it was off to have lunch and perhaps find yet other treasures. A visit to a fabric store, and then home. A very nice day of just doing our thing, without the men around!! Not that they're not handy, but sometimes you need to do without them around, there is no questions, like "how much time to you need here?" or "why are you buying that, do you really need it?" Well, you understand if you are married. That's a wrap! Until next time, Antique Rose
